And for my next trick, I will eat my way across Utah County! (And parts of Salt Lake).

So I am off to Utah tomorrow for Women's Conference. And by 'Women's Conference,' I mean:

Pastrami burger at Burgers Supreme,

shakes at Stan's,

fry sauce,

somewhere good in SLC (Market Street Grill? Do any of you have recommendation of delicious food in downtown area?),

Shakes at the Creamery,

blueberry bagel from the Twilight Zone (not cause is good, just cause I ate them every day for years. Because it was the 90s so a girl could eat like 6 bagels without guilt, as long as she avoided cream cheese),

more fry sauce, maybe the kind from Training Table that has BBQ sauce in it,

one of those brownies with the mint frosting from the Cougareat,

a Gandolfo sandwich, from Gandolfo's,

and...

and...

I think that's it.

Am I missing anything?

Is there any place in Provo that might have popped up the past 12 years that I shouldn't miss?

Please don't tell me about any more shakes that I need to try.

Okay, fine, go ahead and tell me.

Also, we'll be going to see my cuzzin (wish she was my blood relation) Hailey in Willy Shakespeare's As You Like It at the Hale.

You all should come, too, if you are in town.

Shakes afterward (Oreo banana, of course) at Sconecutter?

For downtown Salt Lake, The Red Iguana. Mmm, mole.
If I was at BYU I would be enjoying some Creamery chocolate milk and some BYU ranch. My bagel of choice would be asiago with garden vegetable cream cheese. I wish I could run away to Women's Conference, if only for the food.

We're heading to UT valley in June and can't wait to hit these Provo joints: J Dawg's, the creamery (kids meals are like $1.99 and include burger, fries, and scoop of ice cream), and El Azteca. Getting hungry thinking about it.

Red Iguana is awesome for Mexican, Everything else, for my money, it's Metropolitan (for new continental), Spencer's (for meat), and Kyoto (for sushi.) Log Haven is also excellent (but in Millcreek Canyon), and I have heard nothing but great things (though I have never been there) about Cucina Toscana, widely considered the best Italian food in Utah. Avoid La Caille--boring, overdone, cheesy, and overpriced.

Pizzeria 712 won this year's best of Utah County in Salt Lake Magazine. Hailey loves the place--I think it's just good, quality food at a respectable price.

Best sandwich in Utah? Clint's Deli (Center Street, Provo), no question, hands down. Get the "Clinster." I eat about 40-50 a year.

Here's the best authority on Utah food, IMHO:

If it was ME going, Jamba Juice would be on that list...like 3 times at least. Because we don't have one even remotely close to where I live, and that is a definite sin.

Yum. Sounds like you have a fabulous menu (weekend) planned.

I thought Red Iguana was kinda nasty, but I don't like mole, just tex-mex. I would say Cafe Rio but you have that in AZ. (jealous!) Wingers chicken salad...I love their wing sauce.

Um, you forgot malts at the Malt Shoppe. I used to work there! Not gonna lie---I was the best malt maker ever:) I'll meet you for shakes there any day.

I was gonna recommend Red Iguana as well...someone beat me to it!

Ben does not mess around when it comes to dining, let me tell you!

But yes, you MUST go to Pizzeria 712 and ask for the white pizza (even if it is not on the menu) You will dream about it. And also, take me with you. It's in Orem.

I also am in love with Bangkok Grill (also Orem) If you love thai food, you will be oh so happy. And again, please take me with you.

Have fun!!! I love going back to Provo (to visit and eat!).

Ben and Hailey took us to Pizzeria 712 last summer and it was SO good. You have to try it :)

JCW's----best burgers!!! in American Fork/Pleasant Grove

Sam Hawk for Korean.

Thai Chili Gardens in Orem for the Mussaman.

Pizzaria 712 for THE AWESOMENESS of dinner.

Dew, just south of campus under Campus Plaza, for fantastic Vietnamese baguette sandwiches and homemade pastries. A MUST.

I will tag along for no upfront fees.

I can't believe that you left out Los Hermanos. I know you've got Mexican down there in AZ, but nobody beats Los' fajitas. Chicken, ask for "well done" and pile on the guac, thank you very much. (It will make me feel better about ditching you to eat all alone, if you'll have one for me. Okay?)

Come over the pond and I'll take you to a chips shop that's guaranteed to give you a heart attack scare. Now THAT'S living! Or not..

and there was an awesome Pudding on the Rice (like 2 dozen flavors of rice pudding) but when i went to get some to take to a friend they had closed. oh, the horror. now i have to learn to make my own.

and can i hitch a ride back home with you in your suitcase so i can see my sisters???

My favorite college eatery is probably no longer standing...literally! It was a little grass shack called the Haole Hut, and it served THE BEST Hawaiian food I've ever had! Teriyaki beef sticks, and kahlua pork like nobody's business.

I'm so jealous -- not for the food, but for the conference. I haven't been able to go to WC for years, and I keep saying I want to go back, and plans happen and then un-happen, and I can never pull it together in time. Have a marvelous weekend!

Um, I have heard of this "Dew" that Azucar mentioned, but never tried it. I guess you better take me there as well.

Also, I am now inclined to have a tasting smackdown between Thai Chili Garden's Massaman and Bangkok Grill's Massaman.

Wow, you guys have given me some great ideas. I may not be able to eat all I want: I was very hungry when I wrote this post, plus my sister doesn't like the Burger Supreme like I do.

You might have noticed that most of my picks are fast food. I WAS a college student when I lived there. Jake used to bring me steaks from Carver's (I know, woo me like a caveman, big hunks of meat for his lady) cause he worked there, but mostly I didn't get out too much!

My family will appreciate all of your more sophisticated palate ideas. I'll let you know how it goes!

No, but seriously, FB me with the dining schedule. P712 on Thursday night? It's right near the theater so I can push it to the last minute...

I can't believe no one has mentioned Smart Cookie! I am absolutly in love with their sugar cookies. I believe the provo one is right next to Jdawgs. although I'm not quite sure.

I'm so jealous that you will be within miles of Training Table and Sconecutters!!! I'm salivating.

By the way, have you ever noticed that Sconecutters has THE slowest drive thru EVER?! Most annoying.

Get a cupcake at The Sweet Tooth Fairy bake shop in Provo... you dont know me, but will thanks me! lol

Unfortunately, most of my Provo/Orem dining is McD's with a good playplace, Little Caesar's, and Wendy's. Oh, and Arby's. The one near the Provo Mall has both Diet Dr. Pepper AND fry sauce. (Both rare for a national chain in Utah.)

If you ever want a homecooked me, let me know. :o)

I've gotta go to Women's Conference next year. It's a shame that I live 20 minutes from BYU and have never gone.

Oh fun! I must tell you of our favorite place in Provo.
"Sammy's Burgers" you will LOVE it, it's right across the street from the Marriott off of center. Kind of a hole in the wall place with the most AMAZING pie shakes. Yep that's right i said "Pie Shakes" real pies they put in the shakes... Seriously to DIE for.

Have fun!!

I did Los Hermanos while I was down there for WC and I actually purchased and ate ALL BY MYSELF 6 mint fudge brownies.

Pardon me, while I roll home.

(wish I could have met you!)

Stopped by from MMB and have enjoyed reading your blog for the last 20 min :)

I love Provo food. We just discovered Apollo Burgers (by HCT actually) --YUMMY. They have fabu frenchfries (of which I'm obsessed with) and pastrami burgers too. My friend just told me about a whole in the wall "Sammys" off of Center and Univ Ave in Provo. It's on my 'to eat at' list this summer.

Funny how we go out of town and huge highlights become the food! :) Hope you're having a great trip!

I know I'm probably too late telling you this. but if you are in Provo or Orem you should try The Italian Place. in Provo on bulldog Boulevard and off of state street across from University Mall in Orem. great steak sandwiches. And also already said J-Dawgs is GREAT. and I love Cafe Rio. The Malt Shop in Provo has good shakes as well.
