Hillbilly Picture Day

So...somebody at our house forgot that today was picture day at school, because Sam wore his Mario Kart t-shirt.

It is stained, wrinkly, and so shorty it sometimes shows his belly.
He pulled it out of the pajama drawer this morning, and put it on with some high water pants.

The somebody that forgot about the pictures?
I'll give you a hint: it wasn't Sam.

He totally remembered.

Thanks for the tip on Wideacre. Phew! Dodged a bullet on that one. I absolutely love your writing style. I'll have to check back on you , if you don't mind! My kids wear stuff like that every day. Some of them have complete artistic license over their wardrobe because their choices crack me up. Yikes!

My husband was reading this post over my shoulder and said, "At least it's not just me. Good to know somebody with a uterus can forget too."

No way! Dwight Schrute posted a comment on your blog? Cool. Sting posted one on mine last week.

That's gonna be a sweet picture!

haha, we have to have those things every now and again to keep us humble because otherwise we'd be too darn perfect, right?

I'm an Office junkie too!

I knew it was picture day---that's why I had on the hat and glasses....hiding my identity. Sam's cute little smile made up for the shirt-I saw him in the picture line.

At least the high water pants won't show in the picture--see, there's a silver lining in every cloud!

Who is going to be looking at his shirt? His hair is the star of that show!

Ha, this is so my life.

He'll be adorable anyway, of course. And one day, his bride will chose this picture to display at the wedding reception.

Be glad that the clothes barely show. It's always the hair you gotta worry about. I always fret the whole day because no matter how you send them out the door the picture comes back like you never even brushed their hair that day. Why oh why do schools have recess before pictures???
Can't wait to see how cute Sam looks no matter what he wore.

If school pics actually turned out good I would be concerned. My kids are always off center or have a goofy look!? Jolene is right, as long as that hair looked good that is all that matters. :)
How cool, I see Dwight left you a comment! I am SO ready to watch the office tonight!!

That's great!! Hahaha!! You can usually do picture re-takes... well, individuals not the class -but it'll be something to laugh at from now on, right?

Ethan also remembered picture day- he was dressed all handsome in his nicely extra fitted shrirt from last years pictures. What a good boy!

My kids had picture day the day I was driving home from the funeral. I thought I could trust them to pick out something presentable but I don't think anyone had attempted to do the laundry the whole time I was gone so they had slim pickins. When I saw them I said, "wasn't today picture day? what are you wearing?!" eek.. luckily, there is a picture day in the Spring too. whew!
The Office was great! loved the gas station scene.

That is what retakes are for! We always deserve a second chance!

I remembered both kids picture days..but my son got hit in the eye with a ball at recess right before his picture and my daughter tripped and hit her lip, resulting in a nasty fat lip for picture day!

We will be doing retakes!!

Dallen went to school the other day with a dirty shirt on. It had crap all over it. Chad let him pick out a shirt and he pulled one from his dirty clothes pile and chad gave him the go ahead. I wanted to strangle him when I saw what Dallen was wearing when I picked him up from the bus stop.

I thought of you last night when Holly had two tickets to see Counting Crows with the guy Oscar set her up with, and then Michael tore them up. Isn't blogging strange, in how people in your computer may pop into your head at any moment?

Hello, Ms. Popular. The best school picture Mila ever had was the day I forgot about them completely.

To answer your question(s), we got the classic chocolate ones, but the caramel and coconut are calling my name, so both are good choices, I'm sure. The brownies are super rich so you can't eat much, but Ben and Lisa both almost died of happiness while eating them so I guess it depends how much you love rich chocolate.

I forgot my kid's picture day, too. And it was the day he through a fit and wanted to wear a Tigger shirt. I gave in since it was orange day at school. They actually didn't turn out too bad.

nikkicrumpet said...

Too funny. That one is gonna be a photo you talk about when you get old. I hope his belly is showing in the picture!

LOL!

And Wonder Woman, they had pictures on Orange Day? That is . . . either totally awesome, or just really bad planning.

This year I *barely* remembered it was picture day in time to make my son comb his hair and wash his face and change his shirt. (But he did insist on wearing the same shirt as last year -- sigh.)
